Hao Zhang张浩

Prof. Zhang has long worked on the front line of clinical care in pediatric cardiovascular surgery, focusing on surgical innovation, outcome evaluation and cardiopulmonary protection. In partnership with The Lancet, he led the release of a policy recommendation report on congenital heart disease in China, and has led the publication of three guidelines and consensus statements—covering pulmonary hypertension, integrated CHD care and pediatric cardiac rehabilitation—in the Chinese Journal of Pediatric Surgery and other journals. He has published more than 30 papers as corresponding author, including in Circulation, European Heart Journal, The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health, Journal of Clinical Investigation and Nature Cardiovascular Research. He currently serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the National Expert Committee on Cardiovascular Diseases, Chair-elect of the Division of Cardiac and Great Vessel Surgery of the Shanghai Medical Association, Chairman of the Vascular Medicine Committee of the Chinese Association of Pathophysiology, and International Advisor to The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health. His honors include the National Health Commission award for Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions, the State Council Special Allowance, the Shulan Medical Youth Award and the China Youth Science and Technology Award. He has been selected for talent programs including Shanghai Medical Leading Talents, the National 10,000-Talent Plan for Leading Talents in Scientific and Technological Innovation, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and the Shanghai Medical Craftsman title.
